COVID-19 Testing Refund and Cancellation Policy

Before booking an appointment

Before booking a COVID test appointment, it is your responsibility to review the entry requirements for your travel destination, including the type of test required, along with figuring out the best date and time to have your test administered. You can check websites, such as this one, to help you plan correctly –

PRAXES does not advise on, and does not take any responsibility for, any test timings and their associated outcomes, including (but not limited to) the effect on travel, business or personal plans.

We recommend NOT booking a COVID test appointment until your travel arrangements have been finalized and confirmed.

The timeline for processing of PCR tests is outside of the control of PRAXES and is subject to change without notice. All PCR swabs samples are sent to the Nova Scotia Health Microbiology Provincial Lab for processing. The lab is open 24/7/365, but there may be delays if there are a high volume of tests being processed. You can check our current estimated wait times on our website here:

Rescheduling an appointment

If you need to reschedule your appointment, please DO NOT cancel your existing appointment and then create a new one unless absolutely necessary. We recommend that you do the following steps instead:

  1. Visit our booking site at and select My Bookings.
  2. Find your scheduled appointment. Then click Reschedule.
  3. Choose a new date/time for your appointment.
  4. Save the new appointment date/time – we recommend that you also add a reminder in your calendar so that you don’t forget!

Note that new appointment dates/times are subject to availability at our locations.

You are allowed to reschedule an appointment at a different location from where you originally booked.

If you are unable to facilitate rescheduling your appointment on our booking website, then please phone our COVID team directly at 902-420-9725 or email us at for assistance.

Warning: You cannot reschedule appointments that are within 72 hours of your booking date/time. For anything this close to your appointment, please phone us directly at 902-420-9725 during regular business hours. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to reschedule you because we may be fully booked, but we will do a best effort depending on availability.

Cancellation and Refunds

If you need to cancel an appointment, please complete the refund and cancellation request form on our website at:

Refunds adhere to the following restrictions:

  • If you cancel with less than 24 hours before your appointment date/time there are NO refunds.
  • If you cancel between 24-72 hours from your appointment date/time, then you are eligible for a refund, minus a $25 + HST late notice administrative fee. Any cancellations this late will need to be phoned in to our team to inform us during business hours – 902-420-9725.
  • If you cancel with greater than 72 hours from your appointment date/time, then you will receive a full refund (with no administrative fee charged).

If you cancel your appointment and intend to book another one at a later date/time, your new appointment is subject to availability.

Refunds must be processed back to the original payment method that was used to pay for the appointment.

You cannot request a refund after a COVID test/swab has already been administered.

Appointment no shows

You acknowledge that you cancel your appointment and forfeit your paid amount entirely if you are later than 15 minutes for your appointment.
